Today

For the sound of the Bob White quail and the memory of daddy telling me to listen; for reunions and childhood friends; for bar-b-que, baked beans and family at the table; for spiked hair and a mother's love for the child without, for kids tables and plenty; for quiet homes and the mystery of marriage; for houses rented and restaurant dreams--southern comfort; for entrepreneurial spirits and the answer: yes, for blue heron and quiet, still fisherman; for cattails and lily pads coming into bloom; for my mom and dad - partners and family--- for these and, oh, so many more blessings, gifts and graces-- I give thanks to the LORD!

May Song

For May roses, a puppy dog's tail wagging; kittens and sassy 2 year olds; for clean floors and clean sheets; for graduations and nephews who listen and obey; for weddings upcoming and new beginnings and finding each other through the dark; for Mother's Day poems and words; for strawberries and a Son's thoughtfulness; for new enterprises and school's ending; for a Pastor's sharing and friends' blessings...for the inheritance of Godliness I claim as my own
(I love you Mom and Dad); for these and, oh, so many more blessings, gifts and graces, I give thanks to the LORD!

Unseen Miracles Made Manifest

For This little person; for first fish caught; for new enterprises, for gifts activated; for Godly parents; sleeping households; for optimism that comes quietly; for unexpected gifts; for this night...this new tangible hope, for unseen miracles made manifest by love -- for these and so many more blessings, graces and gifts- I give thanks and praise to the LORD!

Let the Anthem be sung and Let the Message Go Forth. God Bless.-Rev. Mike Hanley

Today is Pentecost Sunday which simply means 50 days since the Passover of Easter week. The Feast of Weeks was celebrated in the days of the Old Testament which correlated with Pentecost. It was on the day of Pentecost when The Holy Ghost was sent to the church gathered in Jerusalem in an upper room. The 120 Faithful received this wonderful gift and began to speak with other languages as the Holy Spirit gave them the utterance.
It gives me great pleasure to share this testimony with my FB friends. About 52 years ago as a 13 year old boy hungry for God, I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gave me the utterance. Glad to say that this Holy Comforter still abides faithful in my life today. Four men at the Belton Church of God on Shirley Street, prayed with me on a Sunday Night until I prayed through. Those men were men of God that stayed and prayed with me. My Dad, Hurshell Hanley, Bill Oates, Guy Hamby, and one more will forever remain in my heart as men who mentored me.

My prayer is that everyone would come to enjoy this wonderful gift. God Bless.

Create

““To all the secret writers, late-night painters, would-be singers, lapsed and scared artists of every stripe, dig out your paintbrush, or your flute, or your dancing shoes. Pull out your camera or your computer or your pottery wheel. Today, tonight, after the kids are in bed or when your homework is done, or instead of one more video game or magazine, create something, anything.
Pick up a needle and thread, and stitch together something particular and honest and beautiful, because we need it. I need it.
Thank you, and keep going.””

Your Song

From Ann Voskamp:

"And before YOU were born — there was a song sung over every single one of YOU—can you hear it?

“Body and soul, I am marvelously made
You know me inside and out,you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.”
Psalm 139

Arise; shine!

“Your light is seen. Your heart is known. Your soul is cherished by more people than you might imagine. If you knew how many others have been touched in wonderful ways by you, you would be astonished. If you knew how many people feel so much for you, you would be shocked. You are far more wonderful than you think you are. Rest with that. Rest easy with that. Breathe again. You are doing fine. More than fine. Better than fine. You’re doing great. So relax. And love yourself today.”
